The Lorax

To celebrate Earth Day, we read the book The Lorax. We discussed what the meaning was behind this book. We talked about the importance of saving our natural resources. We then watched to movie. The class loved the movie! Finally, we made Lorax mustaches. Here is a look at our class with our Lorax mustaches.

Science Day

We had the opportunity to attend a presentation put on by the Science Center of Iowa. Here are some pictures from the day.

Learning about wind and water.

Teaching us about convection.

Tornado!

We even had a chance to touch rocks formed from magma.

Hello April!

We are very excited to see April, as well as some (hopefully) warmer weather! This will be another exciting month in 2nd grade!

Students will begin taking their Spelling tests online. We will be taking these through the Spelling City website. Our Word Journey tests are online and ready for us.

On April 11th, we are invited to a Science Day. We will have the opportunity to observe several science stations.

We will be celebrating Earth Day by reading The Lorax. We will be writing from the Lorax's point of view. Hopefully, we will even get a chance to watch the movie.

Our field trip is also approaching. I will send notes home as soon as our date is finalized.
